“The Recovering Baptist exists to help you transition from religion into revival by introducing you to the ‘More of God.’“
-Apostle Brian Minor
It’s less about the Baptist denomination and more about waking up out of a spiritual sleep.
Religion can be found in any denomination or setting. Whether Pentecostal, Presbyterian, or Methodist. Large church, traditional church, or home church. Religion seeks to cut off the forgotten member of the trinity—the person of the Holy Spirit. Religion is hypocrisy, rules without relationship. Religion is a head knowledge without a heart connection. It’s the example of the Pharisees in scripture. They knew the Bible, yet they missed the Messiah who stood before them. Like Saul, who became Paul.
Revival starts
with an encounter
It starts with a moment of waking up to the “more of God,” which is the person of the Holy Spirit. After encountering Him, we must learn how to connect with Him. We connect in the secret place. While connecting with the Holy Spirit, we then have to be equipped. Equipping is maturing.
Out of all of the attributes and responsibilities of the Holy Spirit laid out in John chapters 14-17, the one that’s not mentioned is maturing.
This is found in Ephesians 4. It’s the responsibility of the 5-fold ministry to equip/mature the believer. The apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher are five gifts given through people that most represent who Jesus is on the earth. The fivefold ministry is given to mature the believer in order to build up the body of Christ, the church. Why? So that we can then live and demonstrate Jesus to others. This is revival. We encounter, connect, and equip in order to demonstrate Jesus through the person of the Holy Spirit. The Recovering Baptist helps to connect and equip you for a season. We desire to point you back to the local body for in-person discipleship. We equip you by providing answers through teachings on various topics not typically covered in traditional religious settings. We connect you to our community through live streams, social media platforms, and subscription services. We tell stories that demonstrate this revival lifestyle in order to inspire you to go and demonstrate yourself. We provide merchandise that provokes conversation in order to open up opportunities to minister.
